Saturday, August 24, 2024 - "CREATIVE CURRICULUM: Choose Your Own Adventure!"
Presenter: Stacey Petz | 10am-2pm | Louise S. McGehee School, 2343 Prytania St., New Orleans, LA 70130
In this workshop, participants will delve into ways to embed the Orff approach into everyday classroom routines. Participants will explore the Orff approach through small and large group activities, body percussion, singing, classroom instruments, literature, and so much more! Stacey Petz will share original Orff-inspired compositions that can be integrated into any elementary or secondary music classroom.
About the presenter: Stacey Petz received her Bachelors in Music Education from Heidelberg University and Masters in Music Education from Kent State. She has experience teaching music (Pre-K through 12) including General Music, Choir, and Band. She currently teaches General Music (K-5) in Powell, OH where she recently received the Teacher of the Year recognition. Stacey has completed her Orff Levels certification through the San Francisco International Course and the Orff Afrique Master class in Ghana, and shares her mission of nurturing musical passion in her students with other educators
